Congregants and staff work hand-in-hand to discover our spiritual gifts and use them to serve our church and our neighbors. We need each person’s contribution to fully reach our church’s potential. Together we seek to demonstrate Jesus’ love, justice, and mercy to our community.

Hospitality Team
Welcome and connect with families and first-time families as they arrive to help them feel at home, and provide support with check-in for Hope Kids as needed.

Greeter
Greet, engage, and support families at the doors of the Hope Kids rooms before, during, and after service for kids being dropped off and picked up.

Student Helper
Student volunteers are in middle school and high school (under 18 years of age). Help kids feel seen, known, and that they belong at Hope Kids. Connect with kids and help provide a fun and safe experience for them to learn all about God and His endless love for them.

Small Group Leader
Volunteers are 18 years of age and older. Help kids feel seen, known, and that they belong at Hope Kids as you connect and hang out, encourage, build into, and help provide a fun and safe experience for kids to learn all about God and His endless love for them.

Room Parent
If you are the parent of a middle or high schooler, you can join this team to help support your child’s ministry by helping organize serving opportunities, caring for small group leaders, helping with events, etc. When a need pops up, Michelle or Mike will email the team to see who might be interested in helping.Check-in / Greeter for Middle School

Greet our high schoolers as they enter the room on Sunday afternoons with a warm and welcoming presence and help new students get connected.Weekly, biweekly, or flex schedule, 12:05 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
High School Lobby Monitor
*No experience needed!* This volunteer is stationed by the door and keeps an eye on the lobby of the chapel while high school group meets on Sundays! You can bring a book to read, work to do, etc. to pass the time. We could use help about once a month, 12:15 p.m. – 2 p.m. -

Greeters
Help create a warm welcoming environment: greet guests by opening doors, help them find a cup of coffee/donut, find them seats in the Worship Center, introduce them to others, pass out communion elements, etc. all while being able to attend the service yourself.

Hope in Action Core Team: Investigate potential serving opportunities for our congregation with organizations in our local area; lead church involvement with those organizations. This team meets quarterly to discuss potential serving opportunities.

PADS: Our church is a shelter on Thursday nights through the cold-weather months (Nov 1–Apr 30) each year for the homeless in our area. We host guests, pre-qualified by our partner ministry “Journeys | The Road Home,” to provide a safe place to sleep, a warm dinner, breakfast, and a sack lunch for the next day. Volunteers can serve in a variety of ways: donating food, preparing food, helping with set-up, and staffing the various shifts throughout the night and following morning. Contact Jason Young
Exodus World Service:Exodus World Service: Help deliver Welcome Packs (household essentials), or serve as a New Neighbor, visiting and befriending a refugee family or providing homework help/mentorship to refugee children. Families can serve together!

Human Trafficking Outreach: Serve as a prayer partner, call center volunteer, or with spa outreach. Contact Janet Apgar
Solid Rock Carpenters: Volunteer for home repair or rebuilding projects providing safe and affordable housing to people in need. Contact Jeff Engle
Veteran Outreach: Volunteer to help with our annual collection for veterans exiting homelessness. Contact Jim Mukoyama
Salvation Army: Volunteer to become certified to serve pre-made food and beverages to first responders during an emergency or disaster. Contact Karen Ideno-Chiou

Setup & Tear Down: Our setup team serves on Sunday mornings from 7:30-8:45am to prepare the facility for Sunday services (setting up chairs, tables, and doing some cleaning). Our “Tear Down” team helps stack and remove chairs from the gym to make space for Sports groups and events that meet during the week. Volunteers typically serve weekly or every other week, but schedules are flexible.
Friday Facility Team: Most Friday afternoons from 1-3pm we have a team of Volunteers that come and help with facility related projects at the church (assembling furniture, light construction, painting, cleaning, watering, etc.). The jobs vary greatly from week to week depending on our needs. Volunteers receive an email and can opt in whenever they are free. Contact Jason to get on the email list.
Landscape Team: Our landscape volunteers help during the warm weather months with planting and maintaining our flower beds by watering and weeding. They also assist with the occasional special projects that come up throughout the year.
Parking Team: Our parking team helps welcome our congregants as they arrive and guide them to open spots in our parking lot. This team’s goal is not only to keep everyone safe, but also to make a great first impression on our guests.
Security Team: Our church Security Team is looking to add additional volunteers with law enforcement, military, or security experience. Our Security Team exists to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all our guests.
Shuttle Drivers: Our Shuttle Team helps drive people to and from the overflow parking lot on the northwest corner of Greenwood & East Lake. You do not need a special license, but must be 21 years of age or older for this role. Volunteers pick one of three shifts: 7:25-9am, 10:15-11:30am, or 12:15-1pm.

Meal Train: Sign up to be added to a distribution list of volunteers willing to provide meals to other members of the congregation as needed. This is a great opportunity to serve as your capacity allows.
Gift Basket Team: This team helps assemble and deliver gift baskets to people in our congregation in need of care. Team members can sign up to help with assembling the baskets and/or delivering the baskets.
Card Ministry: If you have a gift of encouragement and would like to help send cards or you have creative skills to make cards, join this team.

Work with the technical elements of worship during weekends and special events. No prior experience necessary, and training is provided. Opportunities include camera operators, online (Zoom) tech, lighting, and stage manager. Schedule is flexible and volunteers typically serve for 2 services.
