Elders
Hope is governed by a board of Elders who are selected from the congregation. In this role, they provide accountability, spiritual guidance, and wisdom.
Bob Bolt
Bob and his wife Christa serve at Hope in various roles. Bob and Christa have four adult children (Casey, Susan, Jamie, and Deng) living outside the Chicago area, and one son, AJ, whom you will see around the church. Bob is a partner and private wealth advisor at Symphony Financial.
Cheryl Daube
Cheryl has served as a teacher in the children's ministry and has led a small group for years. She is also part of the Prayer and Care team. Her husband, Doug serves in the 2-5 year-old room. They have five kids and live in Des Plaines.
George Kawasaki
George Kawasaki has served at Hope as a greeter and refreshments attendant. George has been married to Jane for 38 years with three children, Stephen (Ashley and grandson Teddy), Jill (Matt Pankau), and Emma. George is a Sr. Partner and Managing Director with Ronald Blue Trust Company.
Karla Clark
Karla serves on the worship team. Her husband, Sylvester (Sly) is a member of Hope’s Greeting Team. Karla and Sly have two adult children (Karyssa and Austin). Professionally, Karla is an educator who advocates for the holistic well-being of young people. She enjoys reading, spending sweet times with friends, and long walks along the lakefront.
Carla Pfister
Carla and her husband, Matt, live in Northfield. They have one married son and three adorable young grandchildren. Carla received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana and her MBA from Loyola University. She has worked in the financial services industry for over 43 years but is looking forward to her next chapter with retirement in 2025. She hopes that through Hope's work, as many individuals as possible will find a lifelong relationship with Jesus.
Katy Schmeissing
Katy served on the Advisory Council during the transition from "Home Church" to "Hope Community Church". She and her husband, Dave, currently serve together on the Welcome and Connections Team. They have 3 adult kids: Anna, Carly, and Ben. Katy works at Lurie Children's Hospital.
